The cooking process
Two examples, a simple and a more complex one, show how cooky saves time and energy and what the monitoring function does for you.

Spaghetti: how time and energy are saved
- Preparation. Place the pot with water and salt on the switched-on stove, then you can leave the kitchen. In another room, start the app and choose the recipe. The device records the temperature whether the app is started or not. After a while you see the estimated time until the second step starts.
- Start the cooking process. After a few minutes your smartphone reminds you that the second cooking step is due.
- Save energy. A few minutes later the stove can be turned off. In this example you save about 19 % of energy. The remaining cooking time is estimated from the measured temperature.
- Ready. The app tells you when the dish is ready, based on the residual heat. When you take the device off the pot, the alarm stops automatically.
Advantages
Cooking spaghetti takes about 20 minutes from placing the pot with cold water on the stove until the spaghetti are ready. During this time you can leave the kitchen for 13 minutes and do other things. You also save about 19 % of energy.
